Travel Club-- Great Investment or Big Scam?
There are lots of benefits that are promised when you look at joining a travel club. Possible benefits are substantial savings on airfare and accommodations around the world. Also included in the possible benefits are savings on cruises and entertainment. Travel club memberships can be bought either yearly or for your lifetime, however, this depends on which club you are looking at joining. But as with anything, if it sounds too good to be true, it might be.
This does not mean that every travel club that exists is out to scam you or your family. It is important to explore and read reviews of any travel club that you are thinking of joining. Pay close attention to where the initial contact comes from when you start dealing with a travel club. Did you receive a brochure in the mail? Were you approached while you were on a vacation? Or did you call the travel club yourself?

Brochures that you receive in the mail may lead you to believe that the travel club is being sponsored by a trustworthy company, but this is not always the case. Often company images are used without the company's knowledge. If you are approached while you are on vacation, then you will usually have to listen to a sales pitch. This sales pitch is designed to lure you into the travel club. Laws are in effect to protect you from sales predators. If you purchase your travel club membership somewhere other than the main office, then you have three days to get out of the contract.

Do research before signing anything. Look into the policies of the travel club: are there stipulations on travel dates, are there cancellation fees, are you really getting a good deal? Typically times it is possible to get the same or better deal by going to the hotel website directly. If you can get the same or better deal, then why are you paying for travel club membership?
